Growing up in south Louisiana a lot of recipes have been passed along. Each generation tends to tweak the recipe just a little to make it their own. Well, that's what I like to do. My friends and I like to tweak each others recipes, improve on them or create massive bombs. Feel free to try our combined recipes and if you do make sure to let us know how it turned out and any tweaks you may have made. Don't forget to send pictures!
Crockpot Meals
CROCKPOT PORK CHOPS
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1/4 cup olive oil 1 cup chicken broth 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon paprika 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 teaspoon dried basil 4 thick cut boneless pork chops salt and pepper to taste
Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 4 hours
DIRECTIONS:
Mix together the olive oil, chicken broth, garlic, paprika, garlic powder, poultry seasoning and basil in a large bowl and pour into slow cooker. To prepare pork chops, snip small slits in each with a knife and season with salt & pepper. Add seasoned pork chops to slow cooker and cook on High for 4 hours. Open lid hourly and stir mixture.
I did not use the basil and instead of salt and pepper I used Tony's. I also used assorted pork chops and added worchestershire sauce. I think it taste pretty good. This will be a keeper.

CROCKPOT STICKY CHICKEN
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1/2 cup brown sugar (divided) 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce (divided) 2 T. minced ginger (or 1 tsp ground) 2-4 cloves minced garlic (to taste) 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (or to taste) 3 lbs. chicken (whatever parts you like!) 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup tomato paste
Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 4 hours
Combine 1/4 cup of the brown sugar, 2 T. soy sauce, ginger, garlic and
pepper. Add chicken and toss to coat. Place chicken in a slow cooker and
cook on low for about 4 hours or until done (will be longer if chicken
was frozen). When done, place chicken in a broiler proof dish. Combine
remaining 1/4 cup sugar, water, tomato paste and remaining soy sauce.
Brush on chicken and cook under the broiler for about 5 mins or until
chicken is slightly crisp (or sauce looks bubbly and thick, if using
skinless chicken).
I love this recipe. I put the sauce from the crockpot over rice and omg it is awesome.!!!
